1. About this policy
Optyfind is operated by Cascade Programming Solutions Inc. ("Optyfind," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy applies to the Optyfind website, web application, Chrome extension, support services, and related communications (collectively, the "Service").
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information
When you create and use an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, password in hashed form, skills, years of experience, preferred roles, locations, seniority, work-type preferences, and other profile details you choose to provide.
Job search and application information
We store your searches, saved or skipped jobs, application statuses, interview and offer details, notes, follow-up dates, and jobs you add from outside Optyfind so we can provide matching and application-tracking features.
Billing and support information
If you purchase a paid plan, we collect transaction details, plan and billing-period information, and the country or province needed to calculate applicable taxes. Payment-card details are collected and processed by Stripe; Optyfind does not store your full card number. If you contact us, we collect the information in your request and the related support conversation.
Browser extension and technical information
The Optyfind Chrome extension stores an authentication token in Chrome's local storage and may read job listing information from a supported page where you use it to recognize or save a job. We also receive standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, and Service activity when you visit or use Optyfind.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- create, authenticate, and maintain your account;
- match job listings to your profile and search preferences;
- provide saved-job, application-tracking, browser-extension, and support features;
- send verification messages, job notifications, service updates, and support replies;
- process subscriptions, payments, taxes, plan changes, and cancellations;
- protect the Service, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve performance; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
6. International processing
Optyfind and its service providers may process and store information in Canada, the United States, and other countries. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing.
7. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain legitimate business and security records, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Retention periods depend on the type of information and why it was collected. When information is no longer required, we delete or de-identify it where reasonably practicable.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your password and signing out of devices you do not control.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, withdraw consent, or object to or restrict certain processing. You may update many profile details in your account and can request account or data deletion through our contact form. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and some information may be retained where permitted or required by law.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and change the "Last updated" date. If a change is material, we may also provide notice through the Service or by email where appropriate.
